Frequently Asked Questions

What is AnceStory and who is it for?
AnceStory is a personal life ecosystem for Android — and it is for everyone. Families can build and preserve their ancestral history. Students and writers can organize notes, journals, and documents. Anyone can manage their daily tasks and milestones. People can connect through interest-based communities or an open social feed. Whether you are a student, a parent, a writer, or simply someone who wants a single organized space for their personal and social life — AnceStory has a place for you.
Is my data private and safe?
Your personal data — family tree, journals, notebooks, and Lineage Circles — is private and protected with multi-layer security. Sensitive notebook sections can be individually PIN-locked. The app also has an open social feed where you can choose to share posts publicly, but that is entirely your decision. Nothing from your private spaces is ever shared without your explicit action.
Can I use AnceStory just for personal notes and journals?
Absolutely. AnceStory has a full-featured rich text notebook where you can write diaries, draft documents, organize study notes, or keep a personal journal — organized into Notebooks, Sections, and Pages. You don't have to use the family tree at all if journaling is your primary goal.
Can I connect with other people, or is it only for private use?
You can do both. AnceStory features an open social feed just like a familiar social media timeline, where you can browse public updates, discover new voices, and share your own posts. Beyond the public feed, the app offers dedicated group spaces: Communities are open hubs where anyone can gather around shared interests, creative projects, or personal passions, while Lineage Circles use that same group design as a strictly locked, private vault reserved solely for verified bloodline relatives and family memories.
When will AnceStory launch on Google Play?
AnceStory is currently in an active private beta on Android and progressing steadily. We are targeting a public launch in early 2027. Click "Request Early Access" above to join our closed testing list and be among the first to experience it when new invites roll out.
I don't have an Android phone — can I still use AnceStory?
AnceStory is currently Android-only. As we grow, user demand will naturally guide us to new platforms — and expanding to more devices is something we would genuinely love to do.
